*WIN $100 Visa Gift Card from Tom’s Toothpaste*

This is a compensated review by BlogHer and Tom’s of Maine.

Recently I was asked by Tom’s of Maine if I’d be game to let my kids try their toothpaste on video.  I thought it sounded like fun.  Here’s a video of my youngest 2 girls trying out Tom’s Silly Strawberry toothpaste.   I remember trying a natural toothpaste years ago and not being especially in love with the flavor.  But this toothpaste tastes good!  It is also, in my girls’ words, ‘not so spicy’ as traditional toothpaste, which makes it more comfortable for little ones to use.

I take them to the dentist at a very early age, like 2 years old and brushed their gums almost from birth to get them used to the feeling of something in their mouth. I haven’t had any problems with them wanting to brush!

I have a 2 year old with bad teeth. Getting her to behave while we brush her teeth is like, well, pulling teeth! Toothpaste is either too spicy, or doesn’t have floride. I haven’t been able to find something that she enjoys. A few months ago I discovered Tom’s Silly Strawberry toothpaste. My daughter loves it! Now there isn’t a fight! She cheerfully brushes them and we are all happier! I trust Tom’s toothpaste for my family and I would especially recommend Silly Strawberry!!

My oldest is 6 and we made a deal that he can use his kiddy toothpaste at night, but he has to use the minty stuff in the morning to deal with that oh so lovely morning breath. Our youngest is 18 months and we’ve been determined to start him earlier in hopes of avoiding some of the fight later on. We usually brush his teeth for him, but we often give him a brush with nothing but water so he can practice himself. He loves to copy what he sees the rest of us doing, and I’m surprised at how well he actually does. The only thing is he likes to have a toothbrush for each hand.

I tell my son that he has to brush away the cavity monsters. We read a book from the library about tooth brushing and cavities. The pictures of the cartoon cavities looked like monsters and has done the trick!
