Love
I’ve been rassling a post for more than a week, mostly at bedtime. Each night after working it over for a good long while, sure it is on the brink of done, I decide I still haven’t done it justice, and it still isn’t quite ready to be tossed out to the world. And I post something else. This night is no different. So I will leave you with a picture of my darling Eldest, our first-born. And I’ll ask you to finish this sentence for me.
Love is….
… the little things in life, the smiles we don’t expect, the kindness and friendship from those we care about, love is a verb.

…all of it. It is what life is all about, the focus, the intention, the intimate moments. Relationships and connections with others, in love.
the child who made you a mother for the first time when he was 4 yrs old, who refused to call you “Mama” because you replaced the only mama he knew (his foster mother), and then one day nearly 5 yrs later he says, “Mommy, I want to call you Mama” and your heart falls in love with him all over again for the thousandth time.
Love is… unconditional.
…undescribable with mere words.

Love is…. without an end or a single definition. Trying to describe love is like trying to describe God, in words, to a child who hasn’t heard of him before. Maybe that’s why there is this description…. “God is Love”

Love is redemption; redemption is love. I must admit I am using the thoughts of a very wise 5 year old I know, and not my own.
