Where I’ve wandered today
If you want to get lost in ‘pretty’ for a good long time, just check out these lovely wedding planning blogs.
Since Erika and Israel are getting through finals before they really plow into wedding prep, today I was just looking for my own fun. But oh, there are a lot of creative ideas out there, some of which are very affordable.
Here’s a cute paper roses tutorial. And for the cost of a few sheets of tissue paper, these Martha Stewart Pom Poms would add pizazz to almost any party, whether it be a casual wedding reception, a baby shower, or a kid’s birthday. I think I’ll be making a few for my daughter’s 8th birthday next month! Easy and fun!

I have seen those and done them. They hang in my daughters room and we put a few in the kitchen because we were ready for spring. Balancing Beauty and Bedlam has done a post on them and it was helpful.
By the way, the paper roses are beautiful. I’m not planning any weddings at the moment, but I’d like to do that for a table decoration in my house.
I make those tissue flowers a lot. They take a little time, but look great and are high-impact.
Those flowers were a huge hit for a college graduation party – you can combine colors, too. It was a mexican fiesta themed party and we used red and yellow and you can make the colors fan out from one another. The combinations are limitless and they were worth the time and effort to make.
Hi Mary -
My husband and I made 3 of those hanging pink pom poms for my recent baby shower and they looked so good. Really easy and they came out to cost $1 apiece. We are definitely doing these for future b-day parties too.
I made these for my daughters flower-themed birthday party last summer and they are gorgeous. We still have a few hanging in our home.
What a beautiful table. I’m going now to check on the paper roses tutorial.
Thanks.
