Hi! I have been reading your site for a few years now I believe. I really enjoy reading about your family.

I hope you are able to share some of the Korean dishes you will be eating. My husband loves Korean food. We have been learning how to make bimbambop, bulgogi, and kimchee pancakes. We just love it.

Very excited to follow your family’s adventure in Korea! Check out Namdemoon (don’t know if I spelt that correctly) for a “real” Korean market experience – I remember turning around and coming face-to-face with a pig’s head. I screamed, everyone else laughed. Amazing place. I realise that you’re not there just as a tourist looking at everything, but if you get a chance to go to the DMZ for a tour, it’s really amazing.

Say ‘yes’ (or, ‘ne’) to Insadong!

I hear there is a lovely “secret” garden palace there in the Insadong area. We didn’t make it but we meant to…it’s a lovely shopping mecca but your boys will likely be bored. But: there is a busy arcade there where you could leave them for a bit while you browse a couple of stores in either direction. My son was worried about getting lost from me so I had notes written in Korean that he carried, about who we was, who I was, and where he was staying.

So many beautiful papers, writing / painting brushes, arts, etc. at Insadong.
