Monthly memory work

April 1, 2009

I’ve written before about Bible memory work.  In case anyone is interested, I’ve added our current memory project in the right-hand sidebar.  We spend 5-10 minutes a day on this project, and choose a new verse once a month or so.  I think the kids could actually memorize it in two weeks, but my cluttered mom-brain needs a month to learn it well!   I’ll try to remember to update it each time we move on to new verses.

Yay! Thanks! I will try to work on memorizing the chapter as well, then I won’t be so far behind. :)

I would love to hear more about how you do this. Do you get the kids to repeat a line back to you, over and over? Re-read the passage in its entirity again and again? Put actions to it? And how do you handle the fact that the little ones probably don’t understand everything they memorise and the words are unfamiliar? (well, mine don’t anyway. Oldest is 3.5 years)
