Amanda and Ben this weekend
I’m finding it much more fun to scan facebook for new pictures from my traveling, newly-engaged daughter than it is to write my book. Speaking of Amanda, her engagement ring is being custom made this week! She and Ben visited half a dozen stores, got ideas, and put in their order. Oh, the excitement. The instant-messaging at odd hours. The poring over blurry closeups on Facebook. Bless the girl for making me feel like part of it, half a world away though I am.
And just when I decide to get my head together, lovely blog readers send me links to amazing sites like THIS ONE. (Seriously stunning work Melissa does. Captivating. As in, 30 minutes gone justlikethat.)
But SO not what I need to be doing right now. My book deadline is ONE month away. Yikes. I’ve gotta work. More. Longer. Harder. If I’m not too chatty around here for awhile, that’d be why.
Yeah. So. I think that about says it.

Today I blogged about my 4 year old playing dress up in a bride dress and how daddy just can’t take it and here you are living it! So thrilled and delighted for your family at the wonderful news! And glad that it’s a ways down the road for me! Blessings to all!

I don’t know if it’s because I’m also newly engaged (the end of November), but I’m so thrilled for your daughter. I don’t know your family at all, of course, but I’ve been reading your blog for over a year now, so I guess I feel like I know you guys.
I know Amanda doesn’t want gushing, and I wouldn’t either, but I’d love to know more details! Have they set a date? Will they live here in the States?

Obviously I’m jumping the gun here…because they aren’t even married…but in looking at the picture of the two of them…I think they are going to have the prettiest babies. I know…don’t have a heart attack Grandma!
They are such a lovely couple. I love the joy that’s radiating out of their faces.
