Christmas ornament craft
Yesterday morning I hit the craft store in hopes of finding a fun craft. I got some ideas from pre-made kits, but ended up buying 4 bags of beads and a spool of wire rather than a kit. The craft was fun for everyone. We had fun coming up with a variety of crazy creations. Pipe cleaners and pony beads made an easy variation for my youngest daughter. Click on the pictures for larger versions and picture descriptions.

We did a lot of beading ourselves. Our became a myriad of bracelets for Christmas gifts.
“A lizard sinking in quicksand” ROTFL!! I am again convinced that your family and mine are birds of a feather. I only wish we could flock together! ;o)
Great idea for a craft…
i love your site, I like the bead idea for sure i look forward to reading more form you.
Those decorations are lovely. I hope you count the session towards a homeschool Art Activity because the projects are very much a creative outlet.
One of my favorite books about homemade tree decorations is an old paperback bought from a school Book Fair fundraiser.
_A Country Christmas_ by Bonnie Lou Risby
is still on my shelf all these years.
Ones I looked up online must be second edition, but still not very expensive.
ps As a reading bystander, I Loved your stories about shopping.
ohhh I am glad I read this, my Lucy is old enough to bead this year I think she’ll love it!
crafting with kids is one of my favorite things to do. This one looks like a happy time!
So glad you survived Black Friday and that it was a success for you.
Thanks for the great new ideas. I too shopped at Michael’s a few weeks ago and bought pipe cleaners and tri-beads. My almost three-year-old daughter LOVES making candy canes, wreaths and snowflakes – especially when her little brother is in bed and we can have Mommy/Daughter crafttime on the floor without having to keep beads away from the baby.
These crafts are lovely, what a great idea!
