I make something yummy like this too! But, I learned from another pumpkin recipe with "cake mix topping", that it tastes the same if you just mix the butter in the flour mixture and crumble it instead of taking the time to make all those little pats. Works for Me!

We make it alot at our house. But we just use 1c sugar, 1c flour, 1c milk and pour it over the fruit. We use everything, cherry pie mix, cheeries, peaches, apples, pears, frozen mixed berries. It's very yummy!

I think I'd like this better than using the cake mix, too. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! We can't make traditional dump cake here because some people in our family are allergic to to corn and food coloring - both of which are in pie filling. So I'm thrilled to have a recipe that just uses canned peaches.

Mmmm, homemade from scratch certainly does look and sound better!

When I worked in a cafeteria, one of the dessert favorites was always Dump Cake. It was also so easy for me to make.
I guess having cake mix in a big bin and scooping out a couple cups would be less expensive than buying a box mix especially.

My family's favorite Thanksgiving dessert begins with a plain yellow cake mix, so I will be shopping in baking products aisle today.
We cain't mess with tradition!

My grandma used to make a cake like this! I never buy cake mixes, either, and I hate it when recipes call for packaged foods instead of real ingredients. I wonder if you could cut the butter even more by substituting a little apple sauce or something. Of course, as you said, it IS a dessert.

Thanks for the recipe. We have some recipes on the Green Baby Guide today, too.
