I am thinking you could drizzle butter over and heat it again.

But it might be even better to make a very wet mix of melted butter, flour, and brown sugar-- like maybe a stick of melted butter mixed with 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/4 cup flour-- add a bit more butter if that mix looks dry. Sprinkle/spoon it over the whole top of the crisp and bake at 350 or so for another 15-20 min. I am thinking if you put it under the broiler, you might just make it too dry, so that's why I am suggesting a lower temp.

No guarantees, but that's what I'd try.

OR-- drizzle caramel sauce from a jar over the top of it all-- that'd be good too, I bet.
Good luck!

I made an apple crisp similar to yours but when I baked it, the topping is VERY DRY!!(too dry to eat) The apple part is done perfectly, but the topping is like eating it straight from the bowl...not too tasty. Is there a way to save this? I thought maybe drizzling some melted butter over the top and putting it under the broiler for a bit???? ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (asap, as I nedd to serve this tomorrow for a get- together. Thanks a million!!!

I think we are leading parallel lives...our van brakes also just got fixed for free...recalled part. Yay! The dishwasher is also out...our kids are thrilled too. We also picked apples yesterday! I made applesauce today and my youngest had a huge bowl, still warm. We have 4 apple trees and a crabapple across the street that makes the most wonderful applesauce.

Thanks so much for your crisp recipe...I am going to make that tomorrow for dessert!

The apple crisp sounds good. Our apples aren't in yet, but soon. I make a lot of applesauce, and think I'll make a couple of those apple crisps too. Thanks.

So sorry about the dishwasher
