Our 3o day started out with the van running out of gas. Guess I am going to have to bite the bullet and actually put more than a few dollars in here and there. Grocery wise we haven’t spent anything…tomorrow is shopping and I am determined that we will not be spending more than 300 this month (and our pantry is literally bare as I type, so it should be a real challenge. Thank goodness for friends with gardens that survived our June 10th snowstorm!

Good luck with your van. I know how much it hurts to spend money you weren’t expecting to part with.

Your daughters comment made me lol…what an honest child!

Our 30 day challenge started out with my daughter needing a trip to the doctor’s office, medication, and some open-toed shoes so her ingrown toenail can breathe–it’s mighty infected. Plus, I ran out of ink for the printer and CDs for orders. And, I totally forgot about the 30 day challenge when I let my daughter buy a $5 movie. I always get her a treat when she’s sick. On the positive side, I put back the video I wanted to buy myself tonight–and it was only $5. I really, really wanted it.

I’m with Steph. I’d love to see your frozen apple crisp recipe. I freeze casseroles, but I’ve never done a dessert. Care to share?

A few years ago, during one of our more lean times, I decided to hang the laundry. . . .well, except for towels. . . . I do love me some soft and fluffy towels.
I was amazed at how much the electric bill dropped.
The clothesline and two folding racks surely do save the dollars.

Good luck with the van repairs. My car recently got about $600 worth.

My dishwasher was leaking awhile back, too. I cleaned out the edges. It leaked off and on for awhile. I thought it would be fixed and then it would leak. THEN I’d clean again. This happened several times……..and now it hasn’t leaked for several months.
