This Week’s Winners

June 5, 2007

Saturday I asked your opinion about the TB that went round the world. Thanks for the comments, everyone. The one that had me nodding most was from Laundry and Children. She wins my Golden Keyboard this week. She said, in part:

Selfishness is not a good foundation for a marriage or for a happy life. The gentleman put his own desires above the safety of everyone that he came in contact with, including his wife and child. In my opinion, this is a person who needs to re-evaluate his priorities, which he will have plenty of time to do while he is in quarantine.

I also get the fun of awarding a 6 month Netflicks membership to a random commenter. I asked my 13 year old to pick a number between 1 and 16 (the number of comments), and he picked commenter #7, which happens to be sweet Kelli from Living in Grace.

If you gals will both email me, I’ll make sure you get your prizes!

WOW!! Thanks, Mary and the 13 year old :)

I go back on night time dialysis tonight, which means 12 hours a night tied to a cable on my bed.

    Perfect timing !!!!

I know I’m coming in late on this topic, but from what I’ve read, I don’t think Andrew Speaker acted recklessly. He did ask about whether he was contagious, and he seemed to take the actions that were appropriate at the time. I think a lot of people want to pretend that Speaker made his decisions without thought for other people, but it seems he did consult with appropriate agencies/doctors and acted on their advice. Where’s the responsibility of those agencies and doctors?
