Need A Chocolate Fix???

February 12, 2006

Here, finally, is my daughter’s fabulous cookie recipe. Besides being utterly yummy, it is also egg-free which is nice for people with egg allergies.

Choco-Choco-Chip Cookies

4 sticks butter
2 T. molasses
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup water
1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
1-1/2 cups brown sugar
3/4 cup cocoa
1 tsp. baking powder
1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
5 cups flour
12-oz bag semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375. Cream butter, molasses, vanilla and water in a medium-sized bowl. Add white sugar to butter mixture and mix well. In a large bowl, mix together remaining dry ingredients. Combine moist and dry ingredients. Add chocolate chips. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place one inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes. Makes 4 dozen.
